Jojo Siwa’s New Persona

Jojo Siwa’s Former Style

Former Dance Mom’s star Jojo Siwa has been promoting a new dramatic and edgy rebrand that has taken social media by storm recently. With Siwa’s former bubbly and child catering persona, the 180 style flip into a darker adult style has shaken up some interesting opinions and comments surrounding Jojo’s choices.

Jojo seems to be proud of this flip though, with lots of public promotions towards her new song ‘KARMA’ that has been in the works for two years and a fierce demeanor regardless of the comments she’s been receiving. Jojo wants everyone to be aware that she has been ready for the shift into a maturing star rather than catering to children audiences for a while now. In an interview with Billboard Magazine she stated, “No one has made this dramatic of a change yet, no one has made – in my generation this extreme of a switch. I am the first of the generation, it is very scary, but someone’s got to do it.” She believes creating art through music is the best way to show she is so much more than the classic Jojo bows.

Naturally, she has received hate from this revolving around her looks, her song, her dances, and her sexuality. Some viewers state that Jojo forcing herself into her idea of what an “adult” looks like shows that Siwa is not ready to continue on this path. Others are saying that this “phase” is just for views and money. Siwa says she’s used to all the negativity though, stating she has been in the public eye her whole life and people would constantly shame her for “not acting her age”. “You can’t win and I’ve learned to accept that,” she says. Regardless of how you feel about Jojo, she has recently teased lots of future events such as a tour and possibly a rap song. Say goodbye to the old Jojo!
