Mean Girls was a comedy movie released in 2004 staring Lindsay Lohan, Tina fey, Rachel McAdams and a long list of other incredible actors/actresses. The Movie was written by Tina Fey and directed by Mark Waters. The original film was based off the book Queen Bees and wannabes by Rosalind Wisemen. The classic film tells a story about the main character Cady Heron who is navigating high school and social standards after living in Africa for the past 12 years.
An adaptation of the 2004 film was set to hit the Broadway stage on April 8th, 2018. The musical was made by Jeff Richmond with music written by Nell Benjamin. Both the film and the musical gained an immense amount of popularity among viewers.
Coming to theaters this Friday January 12th is the new movie Mean Girls. Directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr the film is a Musical comedy. The 2024 cast stars Angoire Rice, Renee Rapp, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Christopher Briney, Tim Meadows, and more. Like the Broadway musical was an adaptation and based on the original mean girls, this 2024 version is based off of the Broadway musical by Jeff Richmond. The first announcements of the film taking place was back in 2020; Tina fey came back to join the project to help write the screenplay as well as to help produce the movie.
The premier for the movie was January 8th and a great number of actors/actresses attended including the original actress for Cady Heron herself, Linsday Lohan. The film is out soon so make sure to get tickets and check it out, have fun at the movies!

Loved this movie! It was shocking at first to realize it was actually a musical… but after watching it and seeing the actors/actresses from the original, and their new roles; it was really fun to watch!
