This is the prequel to the Hunger Games trilogy. The movie takes place 64 years before the Hunger Games trilogy, and 10 years after the war which started the first hunger game. Which means technology is not as advanced. For the first time ever there are mentors and sending in supplies to tributes in the hunger game is still a work in progress. The movie is about President Snow’s rise to power, and how he became the way he is. The hunger games were created to punish the rebellion of people in the 12 districts after the war for rebelling against the Capitol. One person of each gender at random is chosen from each district to participate in the hunger games. In the hunger games only one person can win. The only exception was when Katniss won with her partner Peeta in Hunger Games movie one. This was because neither of them wanted to win without the other, so they said they would take poisonous berries at the same time that ensures death. But before they could eat the poisonous berries an announcer said they could both win. This marked the first time 2 people have won the hunger games. The release date for the new 2023 movie is November 17th, which means you can see the movie at the theater right now.
