This previous Saturday, September 23, was official start of fall of 2023. With how hot this past summer was, I know many people in Washington are excited for the colder weather approaching. Now, when you think of fall, you may think of Halloween and activities such as haunted houses, haunted mazes, pumpkin carving, and the leaves changing color. Lakewood/Tacoma area has a few very well-known haunted houses close by. The first haunted house I am going to bring up is Maris Farms Haunted Woods in Buckley, WA. With 4.4 /5 stars, many people leave reviews speaking very highly of the actors and the props being used to scare the visitors. The prices for this haunted mansion are $35 for a regular ticket, $50 for a Fast Pass and it is about 35 minutes away from Lakewood, WA. The next haunted house that is pretty popular is Frighthouse Sation on 25th St, Tacoma WA. The price for general admission on a Saturday is $21 and for the ultimate fright pass it is $43 per person. With the ultimate fright pass, you get to skip the line and you get a spooky goodie bag with limited edition extras. This haunted house has 4.5 stars out of 5 and the reviews all speak very highly of the scares. The reviews also say that there are many actors that scare the people waiting in line as well, so although there is quite a wait, the scares don’t just occur when you are in the actual attraction, and they do a very good job of keeping their waiting customers entertained.  Frighthouse station is about 20 minutes away from Lakes High School. The last haunted house that I want to bring up is The Fright Factory in Buckley, WA. This haunted event has 5/5 stars from the 9 reviews that it has received. The general admission tickets are $20 per person and the fast pass tickets are $35 per person. This event is further from Lakewood than the other haunted houses that I have listed. This event is about 50 minutes away. They do have vendors for food and drinks at the location and parking is free. I hope these few suggestions help some of you to decide what you are doing this fall!
