Tacoma’s Phenomenal Haunted House

Tacomas+Phenomenal+Haunted+House

This years haunted house on Freight House Square is phenomenal! Unlike any haunted house you’ve ever seen its innovative, perfectly spooky, and people are loving it. This year from September 29th – November 4th Freight House Square has a haunted house every Thursday through Sunday. My sister is working in it as one of the haunted actors, so I’ve gotten the chance to get her perspective. She says, “we have a line going around the building sometimes”. The constant busyness goes to show peoples satisfaction. It’s a late-night thing which just adds to the atmosphere. I believe it’s a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit.

This experience is so different from any other I’ve been to. I don’t want to spoil it completely but there’s a jump scare around every perfectly decorated corner. You’re not supposed to touch all the knick knacks but it’s so tempting. Everything is so creative and hauntingly beautiful with their dark mysterious nautical plague town theme. Part of the experience for me was seeing the gorgeous costume makeup. The most notable to me was this girl who was made to look like a scary human-dolphin like creature with dead eyes who screeches in a pitiful yet terrifying way. If I could do it again or could give any advice it would be, to go through it at a slow pace to take it all in and really let the characters have fun with it. Maybe even interact if you’re comfortable.

The attraction is there and then gone. It flew by because I was enjoying the scares and creativity. Overall i think it was about a 20 minute haunted house. If you’re wanting to have a memorable fun time it’s on Freight House Square at this address 626 E 25th St, Tacoma, Wa 98421 . Have fun and be safe!

Nicole Irvin, Reporter
My name is Nicole Irvin I'm a 10th grader and I'm turning 16 in January. I love reading and writing but I haven't ever been very interested or immersed in news so I think this year that will change. I'm interested in graduating high school with good grades and getting into whatever profession I can make good money in without going to college. I'm thinking maybe I'll do a trade? I live at home with my mom and older sister who graduated last year! I love music, makeup, reading books, and taking naps. I'm kind of reserved but I'm trying to be more social. My goal is to move out because my mom doesn't allow any pets and I desperately want a cat to nap with.
