“All the Bright Places” is a novel written by Jennifer Niven. This is a young adult novel which is based on the author’s personal experience, it is also her first young adult book. The book was first published on January 6, 2015. Warning: this story includes the theme of mental illness and suicide. The mental illness discussed in this book is bipolar disorder. The character, Theodore Finch has bipolar disorder and is undiagnosed which makes his life difficult. He then meets Violet Markey. After meeting, Theodore decides to help Violet overcome her issues. To do this, they embark on trips together which builds their relationship. This novel is available in the school library. It is rated 14+. The story is about two teenagers, Theodore Finch and Violet Markey. In 2015, the novel received the Goodreads Choice award. In 2020, a film adaptation came out. It is starring Elle Fanning and Justice Smith. It is rated 18+. It is available on Netflix. The movie has a 65% rotten tomatoes rating.
