Close to 40 Kia’s and Hyundai’s have been stolen in pierce county after a TikTok showing how to start those cars with a USB cord came out.

This is happening primary in 2015-2023 models.

Owners of these vehicles are being urged to buy a wheel lock as an anti-theft mechanism.

These are not the only cars being stolen in the pierce county area right now, back in November over 860 cars were stolen.

As someone who drives a 25-year-old car I’ve always thought I was safe from car theft, but all kinds of cars are being stolen now, old and new.

So be careful out there and if possible, take the measures to protect yourself from car theft.
