New York’s Confetti Wishing Wall 2023

Ava Eckley, Reporter

As 2022 comes to an end and the start of the year of the water Rabbit also known as 2023, many around the U.S. are thinking of how to complete the “New Year, New Me” with resolutions and wishes. In Times Square, New York, where the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve hit celebration takes place, people are writing and/or submitting their wishes as well as any resolutions to https://www.timessquarenyc.org/. After the ball drops at midnight December 31st, tons of confetti floats through the night sky of New York welcoming the new year, but what not many people know is that the confetti that is released consists of people’s wishes from all over the country and even the world. On average, 2,000 pounds of confetti land on the ground that night. Which is equivalent to a full-grown polar bear! If you submit your wish using the official NYE website, or if you are traveling to the major city, make sure to snap a picture and hashtag it to #ConfettiWish. The deadline for these confetti wishes is December 25th, 2022.
