Everybody knows Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean and much more, but not everybody knows everything.  Ever since Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s split, speculations of abuse from Amber to Johnny in their relationship circled relentlessly. Their divorce gained a lot of attention while people took to any evidence they could. We see images of Johnny’s finger having been cut by his wife (at the time) and other marks that he attempted to cover or hide.

Johnny continued his testimony in Fairfax, Virginia court Wednesday April 20th. On his case against ex-wife Amber Heard. He is trying to sue her for $50 million dollars after she wrote a Washington Post not directly mentioning Depp but claiming that she faced experiences of abuse and threats from him. Depp says this cost him very important film work. During the nearly 3-hour testimony Tuesday, April 19 Depp said they would get in many arguments, but in the end, he was the one getting physically hurt by them. Johnny Depp expresses things and opportunities he’s lost to Amber Heard’s allegations claiming HE actually was the abuser in the relationship. “When the allegations were made, when the allegations were rapidly circling the globe, telling people that I was a drunken, cocaine-fueled menace who beat woman suddenly in my 50s, it’s over.” Johhny Depp said. Depp says he hasn’t had any relapses with his drug addiction since becoming clean, he often states his regret and embarrassment from his age of opioid addiction. But that doesn’t mean people should ridicule an addict instead of getting them help.    Constantly during the trial Johnny Depp says how hard he always tried to put a smile on Amber’s face, that sometimes it worked… but most days it didn’t.

Depp and Amber met on the set of “The Rum Diary” in 2009, they got married in 2015, then split and finalized their divorce in August 2016. With imposed bad behavior from both sides. The couple both released a message at the time of the divorce saying: “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love.”.

But then April 21st Heard’s attorneys pulled up hostile messages from Depp’s’ side to Amber that caused her to seek a restraining order after their divorce. And Depp admitted during when his addiction was at its worst that he would slam doors and walk around the house angerly, but that he never layed a hand on Amber Heard. They both knew their marriage was a lost cause by that point. Depp had angry outbursts at Amber. Some say this is a result of her initial verbal & physical abuse (allegations that have never been substantiated). So far neither’s claims of abuse have been proven guilty or not. During the trial so far, Depp has been very open about his bad childhood experiences and home-life and how that influenced his drug addiction. But Amber isn’t in the clear either, there’s instances where she had hurt Johnny physically during their relationship and has even been caught lying in court.

The two of them have had a very toxic back and forth relationship and the end result of this trial will hopefully add closure to their lives so it can be at peace once and for all.

“Mr. Rottenborn’s (Amber’s attorney) aggressive and, coincidentally, ‘jack-hammer’ approach toward a man who has suffered extensively over the last six years proves that the mistreatment of Johnny goes well beyond Ms. Heard’s grievous behavior,” a source close to the Depp claimed that rude messages from Depp does not add up to physical abuse from Amber.

Amber has been caught in various lies since the start of the trial. And Johnny Depp has many supporters, from his other ex-wife Winona Ryder, and EVEN Amber’s own parents have stood by Depp this entire time.

This trial is expected to last 6 weeks.

Do you think Amber Heard is to blame or Johnny Depp? Or maybe they both are. We will find out in 6 weeks when the trial results are released.
