Upcoming Sports Events

With Fall sports starting back up, there has been some excitement roaming within the hallways. Students have been preparing themselves mentally and physically this past summer for their sports season to start and now, the time has come. But it was not only our student athletes that were excited for the season to start, it was also our Lakes parents, staff, and students who don’t any play sports, that were excited to watch and support from the audience.

Our Fall sports that have recently started back up consist of boy’s football, boys’ water polo, girls swim & dive, boys & girls golf, girls’ volleyball, boys & girls’ cross country, girls’ soccer, coed sideline cheer, and boys’ tennis. But mind you, even though school sports are finally settling back in, necessary precautions will still be taken due to COVID-19. Masks will continue to be worn and players will still need to be social distancing. Certain sports events have even been cancelled due to other school teams having to shut down because their players caught COVID. Therefore, our coaches have been enforcing COVID restrictions even more now, to ensure that our sports programs can stay up and running. Now regarding the actual upcoming sports events, there is a Football game tonight (09/17) against Mount Tahoma, and it will be held at Harry Lang Stadium at 7:00 p.m. This is the first home game for our Lakes Football players this season and by the energy that’s been filling the hallways today, the football players seem excited.

Regardless of COVID-19, our Fall sports are off to a good and healthy start. Now for more information about our Lakes sports programs, you can visit the athletics website at golakeslancers.com for upcoming sports events, latest news about Lakes sports, video highlights, etc. Go Lancers!
