COVID-19 vaccination site opens at the Tacoma Dome, their goal was to vaccinate more than 1,000 people each day for six weeks. The plan is to offer the Pfizer vaccine so the site can give the vaccine to everyone 16 and older. The Tacoma Dome will only give the first dose vaccinations for the first three weeks and then after that you can get the second dose. It is a drive thru site and it is open at noon to 8 p.m. seven days a week. “we want to beat this virus as quickly as possible, and now our residents have a convenient and easy way to get vaccinated” said Count Executive Bruce Dammeier. The county’s department of emergency management has vaccinated more than 50,000 people since it began in January. But pierce county was one of three to move back a phase in the states reopening plan after hospitalization and case rates broke the established threshold. Gov. Jay Inslee announced counties must fail the two metrics which is hospitalization rate over one week and case rate over two weeks, to be moved back one phase.
