Year in review

2020 was a rough year for everyone, from Covid to BLM protests. but since now 2020 is now over and we enter a new year, what happened so far in 2021? Will it be better or worse? So far there have been a lot of cons

Some people say that it is 2020 all over again because the UK had more COVID-19 cases per capita than any other country in the world and is having another lockdown. The number of new daily Covid cases are about 60,000 in the first week. This is close to quadruple per capita rate of Italy, Spain, and France. One in 50 people in the UK currently have the virus.

Also, Trump has been impeached and is being tried for encouraging a coup attempt which encouraged a mob of Trump supporters to breach the US capitol building because President Trump lost the election. They believed that Trumps claims that the election was stolen. A woman was shot and killed trying to break in. As thousands of Trump supporters were breaching the US capitol, the senators and representatives were fleeing as they were certifying Joe Biden’s presidential election win. As time went on the national guard came in and stopped the chaos. Soon after Joe Biden won the election once again.

After all that chaos, Trump has been impeached again for encouraging supporters to storm the capitol. The impeachment is now in the Senate to be tried.  “He called folks to D.C and gave them marching orders. He needs to be impeached and removed immediately” Rep. Rashida Tlaib said.

Trump also got banned on Twitter and Facebook. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg originally announced that the company will be banning Trump for two weeks. “His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world.” Zuckerburg wrote. That was later changed to a lifetime ban.

2021 has been crazy so far but there is a lot to see for in the future such as the first vaccine ships and an estimate shipment by year end is about 6.4 million. Also, for entertainment there are sports such as the Tokyo Olympics, but no guarantee that it might get cancelled. There are many bad things so far in 2021 but there is a lot to look forward.
