Why after is the Pac-12 splitting up? One of the most exciting conferences in college football history is splitting up after a 100 years, after all of the success and popularity it brought in. The Pac-12 includes two great football teams from Washington state and plenty of other big colleges in the west coast, even after the reign of Washington this year going to the national championship and after all of the publicity that Colorado brought in this year from hiring Deion Sanders the conference is getting split up due to plenty of reasons.
One of the main reasons to the collapse of the conference was the Pac-12 itself not having any media rights deals signed with ESPN and other sports networks past 2024. Shockingly in 2022 colleges USC and UCLA had announced they would be leaving the conference to go join the Big Ten which is known for having better competition and viewership then the Pac-12 does itself. Pac-12 did little to respond to the colleges leaving and destabilizing the conference, more teams would announce the decision to leave the conference including, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State and plenty of other colleges which enviably led to the collapse of the conference.
Where Is Washington and Oregon’s teams going after the collapse? UW and Oregon both announced that they would be heading to the Big 10 conference. However Washington State and Oregon State’s destinations are not yet official they are expected to join the mountain west or stick around for a possible rebuild of the Pac-12.
