Lakes Ledger is now accepting poetry, prose, short stories, and creative nonfiction from students and faculty of Lakes High School.  

 Submission Deadline: November 15, 2020  

 Submission Guidelines:  

1. Previously published pieces are not accepted. 
2. Send submissions to [email protected]. Please submit your work with your first/last name and grade (if needed) in the body of the email. 
3. Documents should be named with the title and genre: TITLE.GENRE.docx 
4. Pieces in all languages are accepted, if accompanied with an English translation.  
5. Please be respectful of sexuality, pronouns, disabilities, abilities, race, ethnicity, religion, and other beliefs pertaining to identity when submitting work.

Poetry:  

 We are looking for poems in any style and concept. Boldness and expressive language are greatly encouraged throughout stanzas.  

• Submit from 2-5 poems in their final draft. 
• Please use .doc, .docx, or .pdf file formats. 

 Prose/Short Story/Creative Nonfiction: 

 We are searching for pieces in prose, short stories, and creative nonfiction to illuminate beliefs and experiences unheard from the student body. Whether they be personally or publicly oriented, submit words with intention of provoking thought.  

• Stories may be submitted under a maximum of 1,500 words.  
• Submit 1-3 pieces. 
• Include double spacing, page numbers, and an appropriate font.  
• Please use .doc, .docx, or .pdf file formats.
