The Trash Problem

The Trash Problem

We have a massive problem at Lakes! Everywhere you go you’ll see trash inside, outside, even in some classrooms you’ll see trash. How is the trash getting there, how can we fix it? I’d say the main problem is how students won’t pick up after themselves, they throw fruit and trash off the balcony, missing the trash can completely. Let the wind blow it away.

I asked the defensive line coach Monk what he is input of the problem is. He said, “I don’t normally watch the field but when I did it wasn’t really the kids it was the animals the crows will go into the trash and throw it around”. I also asked the new administrator about what he thinks about the problem and how we could fix it he’s input was ” it’s the student’s school and if we want to keep it clean you must keep yourself and the groups accountable. You see a friend leave trash tell we don’t do that here. The groups in this school should clean what they have like the JROTC have the turf field, the football player have the track”. I also asked the campus hallway monitor Steve. Steve said ” it’s not the end of the world at the end of the day the schools pay for it. There are no bugs and there’s no rats, it’s just kids being kids”.

Students should aim to keep the school clean, it’s not that hard to walk to the trash can and make sure it makes it in the can. As a student at Lakes High School, I would say that seeing trash everywhere is very pleasing and makes the school look bad. Seeing a bunch of animals eating trash on the turf field, Banana smooshed on the ground and stepping on food when I walk outside doesn’t make Lakes look good.  Keep our school clean and throw away your trash.
