The American psychological Netflix thriller ‘YOU’ has finally released the first part of their 4th season as of February 9th, 2023. With 5 episodes in the first part of this season, Professor Jonathan Moore (Joe Goldberg) has found himself now living in London. Will Jonathan finally be able to seperate his past and live the life he wants to live? The second part of this season will be released on March 9th, and as someone who has already finished the show, I am thrilled.

With the release of season 4, a little drama has followed with. Main actor Penn Badgley has gone public about his request to have zero intimacy scenes throughout this season, saying, I asked Sera Gamble, [the] creator, ‘Can I just do no more intimacy scenes?’ This was actually a decision I had made before I took the show. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it publicly, but one of the main things is, Do I want to put myself back on a career path where I’m always [the] romantic lead?” Penn claims that this decision was based around the birth of his child, and how fatherhood in his real life has affected the way he approaches playing Joe Goldberg.

[SPOILERS:]

With season 4 introducing an “Eat-the-Rich Killer”, Joe (now Jonathan) has found himself in his worst nightmare caught in what he does best, being stalked. With Joe originally going back to London in search of Marienne, he has now made it his purpose to prove her wrong. That he is not the bad guy or a murderer, and that he can live his life with a fresh and quiet start as a professor while protecting the people he cares about. His past will haunt him, and murder follows Joe Goldberg wherever he goes.
