Their coach this season is Jeremy Cosio, this is his first-year coaching for Lakes. He gives his athletes the drive to win, to be the best version of themselves. When asked how his gives his athletes that incredible drive he says “Trying out for a school team takes a lot of courage. These athletes take pride in representing our school & our community. They all have an internal competitive drive to win & play the game they love. As their Coach, I let each athlete know I believe in them and support them. The Score will be the Score, COMPETE whistle to whistle and support each other.”
A recap of their state qualifying game against Auburn Mountain View High School; the game stayed tied 0-0 the whole regular match, they went into two 5-minute overtime periods, still with a score of 0-0 they went into a shootout to decide the game. Our freshman goalie Savanna Newville faced a couple strike kicks from the opposing team, blocking a kick, and the team missing one the lancers won the shootout. Credit also to our own strikers of the shootout, Claire Anderson, Maya Stephens, Ramera Bradley, and Desirae Campos all making their striking kicks! Earlier in the playoff season the Lady Lancers knocked off 2 other League Champion teams, Banbridge Island HS and Stadium HS.
The Lady Lancers see a bright and victorious future ahead! With a team as close as family, there’s not much room to go wrong! We are so proud of our athletes, can’t wait to see what comes next!! Good luck to our Lakes Varsity Soccer team.
