Hey Lancers it might be a bit late in the year, however it is never too late to join a club! GSA is Gay Sexuality Alliance formally known as Gay Straight Alliance, is where people can spend time together and learn about the History of pride and why June is such an important month in the LGBTQ+ community.  

I was able to get a few words from the Secretary/treasurer Nathen Leal – “The Gender Sexuality Alliance formally known as the Gay Straight Alliance is a place for LGBTQIA+ youth and allies to hang! Everybody is welcomed here, and you do not have to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community to join. Here you get to learn about queer history and partake in fun games and company! The club is run by your own ASB 3! Adeline Harman is our President, Kylie Banaszak-Akers is our Vice President and Nathan Leal is our Secretary/Treasurer. Mr. Hinkle, our lovely advisor, makes sure our club is a safe space for all that join! We meet every week, on Thursdays at 2:30 in S247. Come join us and spread the love at Lakes High School!” 

GSA is a great space for people to feel welcome, included, as well as safe. You can learn more about the community and how it came to be as vibrant as it is today.
